Perfecting the tie replacement work flow
We will have our first big push to replace aging ties to build a railroad for the future. We’ve been experimenting for months to figure out the tools and agree upon the most efficient process. We are now ready to bring a big team together to replace 300’ of ties in a single day.
We’ll be starting at 8:15 with a quick orientation. Yep, that is early but, you want to get ‘er done before the sun starts to blast.
All other track will be open for running during the work day. A local car club will be visiting on the same day and you’ll be able to admire their beautifully restored cars.
If you are planning to join or, have any questions please let Bob Silverstein know so we can effectively plan our work day.
What to bring:
Knee pads or a pad to rest your knees on
Drill motors
Work gloves
Spare drill motor batteries
Sun protection
Hats
Lunch
