An onsite meeting to discuss options & plans
We will have our second big push in 2024 to replace aging ties to build a railroad for the future.
Please see the map below. We’ll re replacing old ties on the existing 70’ Alpine Spur (bracketed by Red arrows). Then, we’ll add ~53’ of new track (bracketed by Purple arrows; starting where Kevin + Bill are standing) and join the siding back into the mainline (about where Bruce is seen walking away from Bill). Thus, we are converting a under used spur to a more useful siding. In the future, we can work on the old ties of the parallel mainline and make use of the siding as an alternate mainline route to keep traffic flowing. We do not expect the new leg of the siding to be hooked into the mainline at the end of the day.
We’ll be starting at 8:15 with a quick orientation at the station. Yep, that is early but, you want to get ‘er done before the sun starts to blast.
All other track will be open for running during the work day.
If you are planning to join or, have any questions please let Bob Silverstein know so we can effectively plan our work day.
What to bring:
