We had a wild and wildly successful weekend and night run under the threat of power being cut off by PG&E–which ultimately was cut after the evening run had completed. Approx 40 folks, adults and kids, joined us after dark for for appetizers, mock cocktails, and dinner. Dinner plans changed Saturday morning to make sure we could pull it off with or without power by offering hotdogs and burgers—we had originally planned to cook using the ovens/stove.
Saturday evening we did not run steamers due to anticipated winds, fire conditions, and the threat of a power outage. With plenty of gas and electric engines it ended up being perfect weather with clear skies, wonderful lights strung along the Lumber camp and Redwood truss bridges, and a beautiful view of the SF bay.
Thanks to all who helped with the event.

Embedded within the “P V & A RR October Run day” video below (at around 19 minutes) is a great verbal description from club-member Bill Boiler on what we are trying to accomplish with the Lumber Camp work, Alpine Bridges, and gateway to the Caboose loop (map) to make our railroad even more interesting.
