It is the responsibility of each member of PV&A to be familiar with these policies and their adherence to them. The PV&A Operations Committee will facilitate the uploading of information (waivers and Covid policy compliance documents) to the PTR LLC Data cloud.

PV&A governance is stipulated in the January 1, 2016 Charter and Organization, the PV&A Railroad Policy 2017, the PTR Waiver, Release and Confidentiality Agreement and as of 11/10/2021, relevant parts of the new PTR LLC Use Rules 2021

November 2021 PV&A RR Updates

  • An adult over 25 years of age must accompany all persons under the age of 25 years old while on the Ranch

  • When using any ATV/UTV on the Ranch, regardless of who owns the ATV/UTV, helmets must be worn at all times by the users

  • Water at the Ranch is good for bathing, washing, and boiled for consumption. It is not safe to drink out of the faucet. Bottled water is provided for drinking

  • All members and their guests must complete and sign a liability waiver upon arrival. Liability Waivers will now expire annually at the end of each calendar year.

  • Rules repeated in the November 2021 update that are already understood as applicable to PV&A include those regarding smoking, security, firearms ban, dogs, ranch road speed limit (10 MPH) and septic system care / usage.

  • COVID 19: Currently, PV&A adheres to the San Mateo County protocol as applicable to PTR. Should PTR adapt specific requirements for ranch access they will be administered at that time. In anticipation of a more stable and uniform policy for PTR, individuals should consider being in position to provide proof of a COVID Vaccination, or a timely Negative Test Result, or a timely Documentation of Recovery, should they become required.

Continuing Policies and rules

  • No consumption of alcoholic beverages on ranch property

  • All new members must complete a training program before they are permitted to use club engines or their engine along any part of the right-of-way

  • All guests must receive a sign off from a club member before taking a train for a run

  • PTR LLC will facilitate access through the front gate from 7:30 to 4:00 on Workdays (Thursdays, and pre-approved PV&A RR activities) and Run Weekends.

  • PV& A Railroad volunteers are only allowed on PTR LLC property on designated days 7:30am-6:00pm. The barrier arm by the office will be closed at 4:00pm, all vehicles must be in front of the barrier arm by this time.

  • PV&A Railroad activities are restricted to designated areas. All other buildings and open space are not to be accessed by PV&A Members or their guests.

  • No pictures are to be taken of the ranch outside of the designated run areas unless written approval is granted by a PTR LLC Member.

  • Dogs allowed on leash only, in designated train access areas.

  • Contractors & Vendors hired by PTR LLC are not allowed to participate in PV&A events unless approved by PTR.

  • One of the five members of the PV&A RR operations council will be appointed by PTR LLC and designated as their interface between the PV&A RR and the PTR LLC

  • PTR LLC’s physical mailing address 499 Old Spanish Trail is NOT to be used for any correspondence.

  • NO modifications are to be made to PTR LLC’s property without approval.

  • NO poisons are to be distributed in any areas of PTR, specifically rat poisons.

  • ALL Hazardous materials must be stored in the correct lockers and labeled accordingly.

  • ALL requests to bring outside construction equipment onto PTR must be approved. PTR LLC will not be held liable for any damages or repairs of outside equipment.

  • Smoking or vaping is NOT allowed on property.
